Comprehensive Plan Meeting on Dec. 7 in S. Avl.

Are you a South Asheville resident interested in how development may impact our community?  The City of Asheville is holding a public workshop on the development of the City’s Comprehensive Plan on December 7, 2016, at the South Buncombe Library (Skyland Library for those of you who have lived here for a while) at 260 Overlook Road from 12:30 to 2:30pm.  According to the City, “workshop attendees will hear an update on the planning process, learn about the key issues facing the community and most importantly see how the public’s ideas will be incorporated into the vision.”

The City’s Comprehensive Plan document helps guide City staff, the Planning & Zoning Board and City Council on land use and development issues throughout the City.  This is one of those things that seems somewhat boring on the surface, but is incredibly important to the way development occurs.  Many of our communities submitted a “Plan on a Page” earlier this year explaining what we’d like our visions of our communities to be.  It’s time now to come out and advocate for those visions!  I hope to see you there.
